Former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev has warned that Russia would end up occupying almost all of Ukraine if it continued to receive Western weapons, posting a map to illustrate his claim.

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said that at the current rate of Moscow’s advances in its full-scale invasion, it would take roughly a century to capture the territory Vladimir Putin’s ally had proposed.

Putin’s propaganda tsar allegedly finds way to brainwash toddlers

One of Russia’s most notorious propaganda agents is to launch a show on geopolitics for pre-school children that features animated images of President Putin and President Trump, as well as other world leaders.

Vladimir Solovyov said the show, called Sandpit, would “instil patriotism from an early age” and teach Russian infants to “discuss geopolitics”.

A trailer for the show, which is financed by Solovyov’s media holding company, features images of Putin, Trump, President Macron, President Erdogan of Turkey and Kim Jong-un, as well as Elon Musk. They are all depicted as children.

In the short trailer, Kim suggests Macron should not be allowed to hang out with the rest of the leaders at a meeting in Istanbul because “you are always with your granny”, a reference to the French president’s wife.

When Trump asks why they are chatting on a Russian online platform, Putin replies: “Because your Skype is dead, that’s why.” The once-popular video messaging website was closed down by its owner, Microsoft, this month.

The leaders are also represented by a series of images, or avatars: Putin, predictably, is a bear wearing a furry hat with a red star, while Kim is a mushroom cloud. Trump is depicted as the pope, blessing worshippers.

The first show has yet to be broadcast: however, Solovyev described the cartoon as an “ambitious step into a future where political awareness begins in infancy”.

Russian Lawmakers Declare War on Shrek

Russian lawmakers on Monday held a roundtable discussion where they criticized Western animated films, toys and video games, accusing fictional characters like Shrek of having a “destructive impact” on Russian children.

“They don’t seem bad, but they have both physical and personality flaws,” said State Duma deputy Yana Lantratova, who presented slides contrasting “good” Soviet-era children’s films and toys with those originating in Western countries.

“Gradually, with the infiltration of Western culture, characters began to appear who embodied negative traits but were elevated to the status of positive characters,” one slide read. “The image of the purely positive character began to fade.”

The slide displayed fictional characters like Shrek and the Grinch, as well as those from the 2001 American animated comedy film “Monsters Inc.”

This statement was made amid reports of foreign companies expressing interest in re-entering the Russian market. McDonald’s exited Russia in 2022 due to Western sanctions linked to the Ukraine conflict. The company sold its operations to a Russian investor who had been a franchise partner since 2015, managing 25 restaurants across Siberia. These restaurants were rebranded under the name “Vkusno I Tochka” (Russian for ‘Tasty and That’s It’) and have been operating in Russia since June 12, 2022.
