Facebook and Instagram have both gone down – and some conspiracy theorists are blaming Taylor Swift.

Hundreds of thousands of users have reported issues on the Meta sites, including Facebook Messenger and Threads.

Since around 10am EST, those hoping to post photos or check out some videos have been greeted with a “session expired” or “unexpected error” message.

Many people flocked to rival site X, formerly known as Twitter, to question the cause of the problem.

And one outlandish theory that is emerging is that the Cruel Summer singer was behind the issue – and it’s all down to what she posted on Instagram just moments before.

Taylor Swift reminds her fans to go vote on Super Tuesday:

Swift called on her 282 million followers to “make a plan to vote today” on Super Tuesday.

Fifteen states will cast their ballots to pick the Republican and Democratic nominees for president on a huge day in the election race.

But she maintained her silence on who she thinks her fans should vote for, having previously backed President Joe Biden in 2020.

“I wanted to remind you guys to vote the people who most represent YOU into power. If you haven’t already, make a plan to vote today,” she wrote.

“Whether you’re in Tennessee or somewhere else in the US, check your polling places and times at vote.org.”
