Republican Party has ‘homoerotic fascination’ with Vladimir Putin: Boris Johnson
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that the Republican Party has a “weird, homoerotic fascination” Russian leader, Vladimir Putin.
Johnson, a long-time ally of president-elect Donald Trump, made the remarks on stage at Fortune’s Global Forum conference on Monday, where he was discussing the relationship between Russia, Trump the Republican party.

Johnson, whose three-year term as the prime minister of the United Kingdom overlapped for two years with Trump’s first term as president, discussed this at the Forum. He said that Trump was “pretty tough,” on Vladimir Putin when he was in the Oval Office.
But he said that the Republican party has “homoerotic fascination with Putin, which I personally don’t share.”
He continued: “Some of these people think he’s an all-around stand-up guy and they love his manly Christianity.”
“It’s complete nonsense. He’s a tyrant and a kleptocrat and a murderer and a very, very dangerous and bad man.”
