Sharon Stone complains that ‘It’s Very Expensive To Be Famous’ as she keeps being landed with $3,000 Dinner Bills

Sharon Stone, with a reported net worth of $40 million, complained about the challenges that come with being wealthy and famous.

In an interview published by InStyle on Tuesday, Stone expressed frustration, stating, “You go out to dinner, and there’s 15 people at the table, and who gets the check? You get the $3,000 dinner check every single time.”

The actress from “Basic Instinct,” aged 65, also lamented that it’s “very expensive to be famous.”

Included among her expenses are the recently acquired residence, along with payments for her security team, publicists, makeup artists, and managers.

Nevertheless, when it comes to advancing in Hollywood, the movie star is far from being frugal.

In her memoir titled “The Beauty of Living Twice,” published in 2021, Stone disclosed that she had allocated a significant portion of her salary to Leonardo DiCaprio, facilitating his involvement in the 1995 film “The Quick and the Dead.”

“He was a superstar,” Stone shared with InStyle, referring to DiCaprio, who had recently gained acclaim for his breakthrough, Oscar-nominated role in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.”

“I wanted to be in a great movie, not a stupid movie, so I got the best people to surround me that I possibly could,” Stone clarified.

When a producer couldn’t comprehend her choice to allocate a portion of her earnings to secure DiCaprio for the 1995 Western, she responded by saying, “I get this isn’t man-think. But concentric thinking is how women think.”

The star of “Casino,” initially contracted for $3 million alongside Gene Hackman for the role, ultimately allocated $1 million, one-third of her earnings, to DiCaprio to portray her on-screen son.

“Leo was a kid,” Stone mentioned, highlighting that DiCaprio, who reached 18 during the shoot, likely wasn’t aware of the financial agreement until she detailed it in her book.

Now 49, DiCaprio discussed Stone’s generosity after her memoir was released, stating to E! News in November 2023, “It’s incredible. She’s been a huge champion of cinema and giving other actors opportunities, so I’m very thankful.”

The actor from “Killers of the Flower Moon” went on to say, “I’ve thanked her many times. I don’t know if I sent her an actual, physical thank-you gift, but I cannot thank her enough.”
