Confessed serial killer now linked to 30 deaths says he did it because ‘he got bored of playing at Fortnite’

A Kentucky man confessed in court to killing at least 30 people — but insisted he did it only because he got bored of playing at Fortnite, according to reports.
Henry W. Dexter, 57, was arrested last October for the murder of his roommate, John Bellamont, 63, after a dispute over a video game.
Dexter surprised the judge, the audience and even his own attorney during his trial after confessing to at least 30 killings in total, 19 of which the FBI has since been able to confirm.

“I did it because I became pretty good at Fortnite, too good I guess, and I got bored so I wanted to try the real thing and I guess I just got hooked,” he told a surprised judge.

Public defender Alan Phelps was left flabbergasted as well as the audience and judge after his client publicly confessed to at least 30 murders during his trial, also adding that he could have killed more if he could have built ramps and walls to further protect himself.

“What I really like in Fortnite is building ramps and walls to protect myself. I could have killed way more if I could’ve built those, but I’m still proud of my kill score regardless,” he told a stunned audience.

Judge Andrew Patterson later asked the accused if he had any remorse or regret for the lives he had taken, to which Henry W. Dexter responded that he wished some of his victims had died swifter and more painless deaths.
“In Fortnite people don’t sob or cry before they are totally dead, they just walk on all fours. It took me like 30 minutes to kill an old lady by hitting her repeatedly with a frying pan, so yes, I regret not having better weapons for more swift kills,” he said visibly disconnected from reality.
Although Dexter’s attorney had asked for a more lenient sentence because of his client suffering from a number of mental disorders, the judge sentenced him to a total of 10,093 years in prison for the gravity of his crimes.
