Bloodstained Men protest in Laredo against circumcision

The Bloodstained Men & Their Friends, a group against infant circumcision, are protesting in Laredo on Thursday, December 12, 2024. The events are part of an eight-day tour across Texas.

The group, known for their eye-catching white suits with red stains, says the outfits symbolize the lasting harm of circumcision. They plan to protest at East Del Mar Boulevard and McPherson Road from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and later at Bob Bullock Loop and Highway 359 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“Everyone has a right to their own body,” the group says. Activists, including men who say they were harmed by circumcision, aim to raise awareness about what they call an unnecessary and painful procedure done on babies without their consent.

The Bloodstained Men argue that circumcision removes a natural and important part of the body. They point to criticism of the practice by European doctors and note growing attention in the U.S. through media coverage.
