Croissant-shaped lamp bought on Temu turns out to be an actual croissant

A TikToker was stunned to open a package from Temu only to discover the croissant lamp she ordered was an actual croissant.
‘Froginahatgirl’ shared the bizarre product on her page, which she had bought as a gift for a friend.
‘I came home from work after a hot day and there were like, hundreds of ants underneath it. I was like, “Why the fuck would ants want a fake croissant?”‘, she explained.
After inspecting the product further, her suspicions only deepened, as she suspected the croissant was an actual pastry covered in resin.

In the video, she showed the product from Temu – a popular cheap Chinese brand – which had a hole in it.
‘The ants were going in the hole,’ she explained. ‘So I just poked a bigger hole.’

After cracking open the product, the interior appeared to indeed be fresh pastry.
Crumbs appeared to fall out of the pastry’s centre as she prodded the ‘lamp’, baffled at how the product could be passed on as an actual lamp.
Eventually the TikToker decided there was only ‘one way’ to know if it was a true croissant – by tasting it.
The verdict? ‘It’s fucking food,’ she said.

Temu has come under fire for unsafe products and some that simply aren’t up to par – like the ‘croissant’ lamp.
In February, a warning has been issued over ‘unsafe’ electric heaters which are being sold on social media apps like TikTok and Temu.
Consumer group Which? found several products which they say could explode, cause electric shocks or start house fires.
The watchdog tested eight heaters costing as little as £7.20 and determined six were electrically unsafe.
Three out of the five heaters bought through TikTok were ‘dangerously unsafe’ and the instructions for a fourth were lacking key safety warnings, while all three heaters bought through Temu were considered dangerous.
The names of the products affected were XH-1201 1200W portable electric heater, X7 portable space heater and NFJ004 portable electric heater, among others.
