Oculus Won’t Block Virtual Reality Porn On Headsets

Facebook-owned Oculus VR has no plans to prevent the adult entertainment industry from using its Rift virtual reality headset, which is scheduled to launch as a consumer product within the first quarter of 2016, according to Oculus founder Palmer Luckey.
“The [Oculus] Rift is an open platform. We don’t control what software can run on it,” Oculus founder Palmer Luckey said at a conference today in San Jose, according to Variety. That was in response to a question about the potential for X-rated content, such as pornographic games, 3D porn movies, or interactive VR sex apps.
It’s a surprising attitude for Facebook to take, given how prudish the company is regarding pornography, nudity, breastfeeding photos, or even post-mastectomy tattoo photos on the Facebook website.
