Thanks to the hit song by Boney M, Rasputin is famed as “Russia’s greatest love machine”, so what are the rumours surrounding his penis?

Where is Rasputin’s penis?

Rasputin held a lot of power in the Russian royal court due to his ability to heal the Tsarina Alexandra Feodorovna’s son Alexei, who was a haemophiliac.

He had a large number of followers because of this miraculous healing and rumours swirled that he was having an affair with Alexandra.

In 1916, the mystic was assassinated – although the cause of death is disputed – and his body found in the River Neva.

How his penis became detached from his body is unknown and unconfirmed, although legend has it Prince Felix Yusupov cut it off.

The Museum of Erotica in St Petersburg, Russia, claims that they have the pickled penis of the self-proclaimed holy man.

While this is apparently an easy mistake to make, the current phallus on display is the true mythic member – according to its owner Dr. Igor Knyazkin.

It’s even said to have magic healing powers much like Rasputin himself, curing impotence in those who look at it.

However, Dmitry Kosorotov who performed the autopsy noted in 1917 that the mystic’s genitals were intact when his badly damaged body was dragged out the water.

While the truth is likely to remain unknown, the general consensus is that the penis in the pickle jar is probably bovine.
