Talking about the vagina or its health may feel awkward, but how else will you know if it is okay? There are a lot of myths about a woman’s lady part, let us help by addressing a few.
1. Big/small vulva is not unusual
The folds of skin outside your vagina are called “Vulva”, there is no such thing as the right amount. Just like some vagina have extra layers and some have very little, it does not mean either is bad.
beauty isn’t a size
2. Urine does not come out of your vagina
Urine comes out of a completely different opening that lies between the clitoris and the vagina.
3. Nothing can get lost in there
According to WebMD, your vagina is about three to 12.7 cm long. It connects to your uterus (womb), but the opening to the uterus is very small. Unless you’re about to deliver a baby.
4. You DO NOT need to douche or use any special cookie-cleaners
Your vagina is self-cleaning. You should rather use a mild soap or shampoo on your pubic hair and the outer vulva. Special vagina cleaners can ruin the normal balance of bacteria in there and cause problems.
5. Clear discharge is good
Clear discharge is a sign that your lady part is in good health. As soon as the colour or smell changes, you will need to see a doctor.
6. Sex shouldn’t hurt

Vaginas self lubricate, which is what makes it possible for the strange shapes and sizes to fit in there. Do not force yourself into sexual intimacy, foreplay and consent is the best recipe to get the job done right without feeling any pain. Even if your partner’s tool is “too big”, your vagina should still be lubricated enough for it to fit. If it almost always hurts, see a doctor.
7. Vagina tightness is not a thing
holding on, tight
If you do feel as though your lady part is tighter, it might be because your hymen may be slightly thicker or your muscles may contract with more force. Vaginas are elastic and will stretch and expand during sex, regardless of how big or small you are. You can “exercise” your lady part muscles to make them contract with more force, which gives the illusion that it is “tight”.
