In a new interview with British newspaper The Times, Charli XCX has confirmed that “Body of My Own,” a track from her latest album Sucker, is all about self-pleasure. And granted, considering the lyrics include lines like, “I don’t need you, my touch is better,” and, “I can do it better when I’m all alone,” that’s maybe not too surprising. Also, there’s the whole second verse — “I’m in control, my hands are shaking, my skin’s getting wetter, I’m coming close” — so really it was always going to be about either masturbation or sexy pot throwing.

And yes, it’s the former. “It’s a feminist statement more than a song telling you to put your hand in your pants,” Charli explained, “because girls should own their own bodies.” She continued with a worthy mantra; a call to arms, or, you know, delicate fingers: “‘If they’re going to be sexualised, they should sexualise themselves and not let someone else do it for them.” Enjoy to “Body of My Own” below, which should have you dancing if nothing else:
