Unless you live under a rock, you would have heard about the massive international success of Chinaās AAA game… Black Myth: Wukong, which is based on the classic Chinese folklore “Sun Wukong The Monkey King — Journey to the West”.
Black Myth: Wukong Breaks Steam Record Amid Controversy
Biased reviews, fake ratings, and alleged conflicts of interest in the gaming industry?
After six and a half years of development, the game saw an impressive start, with over 1.22 million online users playing simultaneously on the Steam platform within the first 40 minutes of its release.

Via Mark Kern aka Grummz onĀ X, it is learned, in its first day of release, within mere hours,Ā Black Myth: WukongĀ has garnered over 1.2M players, beating all time records ofĀ Elden Ring,Ā Balderās GateĀ 3, andĀ Cyberpunk 2077.
Canāt believe some are using ābLaCk mYTh wUKonG pLayErs aRe 90% fRoM cHinAā as an argument against the gameās huge successš

Kern, the former team lead for the originalĀ World of Warcraft, added, āItās already the 6th highest-played game in Steam history and still climbing. Likely to surpassĀ Dota 2Ā next.ā
The game has excited a lot of people, including many Chinese who feel that this kind of soft power is a perfect opportunity to show Chinese culture to the world, free from the confines of biased and negative mainstream media representations of the country.
But as with every success from China, there are detractors. Some in the industry are claiming the game lacks diversity, and that its developers are sexist ie. Lacking WOKE element!
Black Myth : Wukong REJECTS Feminism, DEI Woke Politics
Black Wukong game devs accused of racism/sexism/homophobia after the Chinese game devs refused to be extorted 7 million dollars for DEI consultation fees to make their game more inclusive
Some gamers and YouTubers believe that the developer andĀ Black Myth: WukongĀ are being targeted by the liberal Western media because the game does not align with DEI woke standards.

Itās been claimed that a leaked review by IGN ratedĀ Black Myth: WukongĀ a low rating. However, it has since been revealed that the review is fake. The supposed fake review was attributed to an IGN writer who previously authored an article titled, āHow Black Myth: Wukong Developerās History of Sexism Is Complicating Its Journey to the West.
It has also been claimed thatĀ Gamespot wrote articles that attackedĀ Black Myth: Wukong.

Itās also claimed thatĀ Black Myth: WukongĀ refused to be extorted by Sweet Baby Inc., a woke gaming consulting group that caused the downfall ofĀ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, leading to a $200 million loss for Warner Bros. Games.

Some believe Sweet Baby Inc. may also be involved in theĀ recent changes to the newĀ Mortal KombatĀ game, which have been met with backlash from fans.ā

Itās also claimed that a video game reviewer for Screen Rant, who gave the game a low rating, works for a gaming consultancy company similar to Sweet Baby Inc., which would present an obvious conflict of interest.
āA great victory for a based game,ā Kearn said aboutĀ Black Myth: Wukong. āDespite all of western press trying to smear the studio. Take that @IGN.ā
Not all games need to be inclusive especially when it’s based on Chinese mythology! It’s a story about a monkey fighting against other monsters, what sort of inclusivity are they expecting to be there? There’s hardly any human in the game.
What do the Woke Weirdos want to see… A Teenage Monkey Girlboss/Femboy or something?
The IGN smear: –
How Black Myth: Wukong Developerās History of Sexism Is Complicating its Journey to the West
Despite all of the slander written about Black Myth Wukong for not caving the Sweet Baby Inc or forced DEI agendas, Black Myth Wukong goes on to become the biggest overnight success we have seen this year on Steam.
Black Myth Wukong is even crushing Palworld!
Gamespot made a hitpiece on Black Myth Wukong again…much like the other Western Game Journos have done over the months.
This coordinated behaviour keeps adding to the “GameScience didn’t pay the $7million SBI extortion” narrative.

What do Dragonfolks think?
We think the success of this game is multifaceted. In our view, it’s mostly luck with some of the more prominent success factors as follows:-
1. Branding — “Wukong” is almost perfect name as everyone in the west can easily associate it with “Kingkong” — quite possibly the most beloved non-human character (savior of Tarzan’s Girlfriend Jane). Whereas his full name “Sun Wukong” is a bit problematic because most people couldn’t even pronounce “Sun” properly (it’s pronounced as “Soon”, not “San”)… you see?
In this case, even the slogan “Black Myth” fits in nicely as it denotes mysticism and gamers generally love to fantasize. The devs might wanna consider making Wukong as the main Title eg. “Wukong: The Black Myth” (instead of Black Myth: Wukong), and to improve the phrase “Journey to the west” with more exciting term eg. “Odyssey”.
2. Power & Fantasy — This game is an eye-opener not because it’s world class, technologically speaking. As mentioned, gamers basically loves fantasy. One such thing is power, and Wukong is a God-tier Warrior only one notch below Lord Buddha Himself… In short, playing Wukong allows one to unleash all the power in the universe and beyond!
The story itself also opens up wild imagination that’s not normally found in “fighting” game — Wukong is like a concoction of “Harry Potter” and “Bruce Lee” ie.Ā Kungfu with Mysticism!
3. Universal Characters — Here we must give credits to the illustrators… they managed to create the “Monkey King”Ā (and other creatures/monsters) that don’t look too “Chinese”, but characters with universal appeal, and very nicely designed too… that looks cool & powerful.
4. Rebels — Wukong is a rebel who single-handedly challenge the celestial power: Heaven. And gamers are generally rebellious youth… They just clicked… Let’s just say it’s a union made in Heaven.
That said, we urge the China’s Hollywood to produce big budget movies based on Chinese folklore by referring to what makes Wukong ticks eg.Ā globalized elements but never woke… Woke Kills!
For example, while calling a story “The Water Margin (氓滸å³)” may be semantically correct, it’s bad naming…Ā Get some talented “copywriters” (of foreign language esp. the damn Anglo-Saxon English)… as catchy name/slogan do make tons of difference.

She is Xiao Li. She lives in Beijing and claim to attend a high school in Beijing. However, our in-house analyst believes no way she’s a high school student… she looks way too old, she is likely teaching at a “Happy Ending” massage parlor?
Anyway, she is an internet influencer who loves to produce porn for some reason…
Here are some of the shits she just uploaded online, and she calims this is her very own “Wukong The Black Magic”….
