estherwu (July 14 2016): Not the most glam of scenes I’ve done, but it’s my first time on an international series as wife of Kaidu (played by Rick Yune), Hulan, in Marco Polo 2. I didn’t have any makeup on at all and you have no idea how scary that is.
I thought I document this moment to remind myself why I decided to take this path 4 years back.
Stepping onto the MP set and studio was a whole new experience, it reminds you that there is a lot more out there to be explored as an actor.
I remember the disbelief getting confirmation for the role , to the nerves, to doubt, to prep, to excitement.
I remember seeing Rick walk around near our dressing rooms and not knowing he was my co-actor. And under all that excitement I didn’t recognize who he was (sorry hahaha). Having to prep, I googled him and didn’t know what to do with myself. I didn’t want to screw this up and embarrass myself.
Looking back, I loved every moment of this experience. So thank you to the @marcopolomp team again, every single one of you, for giving this nobody the opportunity. Now I will forever have this memory to keep.
