Roxanne Pallett: ‘I had a 3-hour sex binge on YouTube to prime me for new role’
RACY Roxanne Pallett got ready for her sauciest role by watching sex scenes online for three hours.
The former Emmerdale babe, 31, was desperate to impress in latest film Wrong Turn 6 which sees her in a topless romp.
Roxanne said the clips helped her let loose when it came to shooting her X-rated scene. She added: “I don’t think I’m sexy, so I was nervous. But watching so many sex scenes took away the shock value or any taboo. I became immune. “People like Halle Berry or Nicole Kidman really went for it in the clips I saw.“Seeing that stripped away any embarrassment or inhibition and I knew I had to just let go.“It wasn’t easy doing it in front of 30 people but I didn’t become an actor to become half-hearted about what I do – you’ve just got to go for it.”
The film sees Roxanne’s character and her on-screen lover brutally beaten during their romp.
She said: “It’s quite voyeuristic at first because we are being watched. It’s sadistic. One minute she’s having sex and the next she’s being attacked. It’s a really brutal scene.” Filming horror roles in the past has left Roxanne, who played Emmerdale’s Jo Sugden, suffering from insomnia, paranoia and anxiety. Working on zombie flick Devil’s Tower earned her rave reviews but left her drained. She said: “We were filming for six weeks but because I was method acting it took me six months to get away from the role. It got under my skin and started to affect me. “I found myself revisiting dark moments from my past, moments of tragedy and trauma I’d struggled to deal with before. “I remember finishing and thinking it had left me in a really dark place. But I quite enjoy it. I get a thrill from pushing myself to breaking point.” Roxanne is now taking a break from horror to tour the UK in stage comedy On The Piste which opens in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, on September 10. She said: “I’ve needed this. I’ve played so many tortured souls.” Wrong Turn 6 is out on Digital HD on October 13 and on DVD on October 20, from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. Devil’s Tower is out on DVD and Blu-ray on September 15. 
Great interview with Roxanne. She seemed to keep quiet about her role in Lake Placid but looks happy to promote this one and talk about the sex. Will keep an eye on Aqueela to see how she speaks of her role.
