‘That selfie was a big middle finger to everyone that called me fat’: Kim Kardashian explains nearly nude snap and says Kanye approved
Kim Kardashian shocked fans earlier this month when she posted an extremely provocative selfie that revealed not just the side of her breast but also most of her derriere.
On Wednesday she explained to late night talk show host Jay Leno how that shot came to be.
‘I was trying on a bathing suit and I actually just sent that to my boyfriend ā my fiancĆ© ā and I was like, “Babe, can I post this up? This is my, like, big middle finger to the world on everyone that called me fat,”‘ she revealed.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 33, had put on 50 pounds when she was pregnant with her daughter North, who she delivered in June. During her pregnancy she was called ‘fat,’ ‘obese’ and ‘Shamu’ by various bloggers.
‘It really hurt my soul,’ the new mom said. ‘It changed how I am in the public a little bitā¦There were these stories where I was, like, 200 pounds. I was gaining weight because I was pregnant and it was really hard to read all these stories and hear all these nasty things. And I think people sometimes question, they think Iām out āin hidingā now.’
