Strong currents wash up ‘sea pickles’ onto Carmel beaches

CARMEL, Calif. — Curious looking sea life washed up onto Carmel and Pacific Grove beaches over the holidays.
Recent stormy weather have brought big waves and with them ocean wildlife to the Central Coast beaches.
The Monterey Bay Aquarium tweeted that the creatures are pyrosomes, colloquially called “sea pickles.” These organisms look similar to but are not the “penis fish,” or fat innkeeper worms that recently received media attention in Bodega Bay.

The sea pickles were spotted at Asilomar State Beach and Carmel Beach on Thursday.
Pyrosomes are free floating colonies of tiny, multicellular creatures called zooids. The colony feeds by filtering water filled with phytoplankton through its tubular structure.

Not sure if you eat this shit too. But I am sure you can use it as a dildo… for perverted purpose of course.
