Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale is in talks to take a leading role in Dude, a comedy written and to be directed by Olivia Milch. Set to begin shooting at the end of November in Los Angeles,
Hale will play Lily, a popular high school senior bound for NYU in the fall who knows she is good-looking and flaunts it accordingly. Very assertive and a control freak, Lily struggles to delegate even the smallest prom-related responsibilities. The glue of the group, she values her best friends over everything else – even more than her beloved bong.

The indie comedy completes its quartet of leads with Kathryn Prescott, Alexandra Shipp, and rapper/actress Nora “Awkwafina” Lum joining Hale.
The pic is a comedy about four best girlfriends in the last two weeks of their senior year of high school. It’s about dealing with the first real losses in life —  leaving your best friends, your first encounter with death, and the loss of time. It is about that odd mixture of grief and nostalgia experienced by young people as they try to understand these losses. It is also about getting stoned with your friends in your car while listening to hip-hop.
Hale plays Aria Montgomery on ABC Family/Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars, which resumes the second half of its sixth season January 12. She is repped by WME and Reel Talent Management.
Shipp will next be seen in X-Men: Apocalypse as the young Storm, and recently appeared as Ice Cube’s wife Kimberly Woodruff in Straight Outta Compton. She’s repped by ICM Partners and Elevate Entertainment.
Prescott currently stars in MTV’s Finding Carter will next appear in Broken heart, MO opposite Jenna Elfman. Previously, she starred in BBC’s Skins. She’s repped by Gersh, Curtis Brown and Principal Entertainment LA.
Lum has established cult success as a rapper under the moniker Awkwafina, releasing the album “Yellow Ranger” in 2014. As an actress, she appeared in the third season of MTV’s Girl Code, and will next be seen in Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising. She’s repped by UTA and Principato-Young Entertainment.
Heather Rae, Langley Perer, Jimmy Miller, Andrew Duncan and Jen Isaacson are producing.
