Lil Kim: I’m Still the Queen
The “Queen B” claims her crown in XXL interview.
Is Lil Kim the reigning female ruler of hip hop? Yes, according to Kim herself.

More than 15 years after her Hard Core debut ushered in a new era in female rap, the self-appointed “Queen B” is still holding the crown, Kim asserted in an interview with XXL. “I am definitely the queen,” she said. “I definitely see myself as the queen. I am the one who made it possible for females to be sexy. That’s just the bottom line. And [I] still rap hard with the fellas.”
An upcoming 40th birthday may have sparked a greater confidence in Kim, who also said she’s not hung up on getting respect. “I don’t give a fuck,” she explained. “It’s whatever. At this point, it is what it is. The streets made me. They stay at me. There’s nothing that’s gonna take away from my legacy. I’m sorry. It is what it is. I’m dying this way. With the crown on my head, nobody can take nothing away from me. It is what it is. I am who I am. Bottom line.”
Kim has been calling herself the “Queen B” for most of her career and seemingly battled for the crown against Foxy Brown at one point.
Lil Kim and Nicki Minaj Feud: Kim is Back with Fierce New Single “I Am Kimmy Blanco”
Warning! Warning! Hope Nicki Minaj is back in the studio and gearing up because Lil’ Kim is making her way back into the music scene. The Queen Bee has released a hardcore track titled “I Am Kimmy Blanco” where she takes us back to the days of gangsta rap. Of course, she is still throwing jabs at rapper Nicki Minaj, but the song is worth a listen.

The feud between rap stars Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj continues as “Kimmy Blanco” (Lil’ Kim’s new proclaimed name) has quietly been preparing some new material. Although I honestly wish these two would stop fighting and collaborate on a song together, it seems like that is far from happening. The Brooklyn native, who started the battle when she accused Minaj of copying her style and not paying enough homage to her… has been working.
“I Am Kimmy Blanco” translates into the intimidation and demoralizing that Kim wants over other female rappers. The sound of this track is a bit dark and talks about well, how much better she is than these “fictitious bitches.” However, this is Lil’ Kim’s sound and it takes us back to her begginings in the rap world.
But who is Kimmy Blanco and why is Lil’ Kim calling herself this? Griselda Blanco was a Columbian drug dealer and murderer reigning over the 1970s and 1980s in Miami. Blanco, also known as “The Godmother” and “The Black Widow,” was one of the most feared and cold-blooded killers of all time. Though this is nothing to celebrate, Lil’ Kim embraces the power and fear this woman had over an entire city at one point.
While both beefs have yet to be officially settled, musically Kim is still very much in the game. The Brooklyn native is working on a new mixtape, Hard Core 2K13, and building buzz for her artist Tiffany Fox.
