Prince Andrew is reportedly too terrified to travel to the US as the FBI receives fresh pressure to investigate his former associate and convicted sex offender, Jeffrey Epstein.
The disgraced Duke of York, 64, has left the UK once in the last six years — and insiders claim that fears of an arrest, civil lawsuits or being subpoenaed are keeping him from ever traveling again.
The scandal-scarred royal’s fears have only worsened after it was revealed last week that Andrew had kept in contact with Epstein for longer than he initially let on.
The new information has sparked fresh calls for a criminal probe into Epstein’s close relationships.
“He is terrified if he goes to America, he could be arrested, face civil action or be subpoenaed,” a source told the Sun.
“He used to be Air Miles Andy but he’ll never risk going to America again,” the insider went on. “Since the whole thing blew up, he’s only been to Bahrain, where he has friends.”
“There hasn’t been a single golf trip to Spain or holiday abroad,” they added.
President Trump’s nominee for FBI director, Kash Patel, has vowed to “do everything” he can to expose those who were involved in Epstein’s network.
The disgraced Duke of York, 64, has left the UK once in the last six years.
Spencer Kuvin, the attorney representing Epstein’s victims, has since said the UK government should “turn [Andrew] over” for questioning, adding that the Firm should be distancing itself from the duke.
“The British monarchy should be embarrassed. He should be fully separated from the monarchy and the public should never be subsidizing someone who has either such bad judgment to be friends with this man or could have been involved with him,” Kuvin said.
“The president should require his new FBI director to fully investigate Andrew’s conduct. The government should turn him over for that and demand he volunteer himself to be a part of it.”
“The king should do that. Andrew should be held accountable by the monarchy,” he added.
Buckingham Palace has declined to comment.
It was revealed last week that Andrew had kept in contact with the serial sex trafficker for longer than he initially let on.
The younger brother of King Charles has strenuously denied claims against him and had previously insisted that he has no recollection of ever meeting Virginia Giuffre.
In February 2022, Giuffre and Andrew’s attorneys filed court papers stating they had reached an agreement in principle to settle the lawsuit she had filed against him.
Andrew admitted no wrongdoing but wrote in a letter that he regretted his association with Epstein, who Giuffre claims trafficked her to the royal and other rich and powerful men.
In 2020, the FBI had asked the UK Home Office to assist it in bringing Andrew in for questioning, but the investigation was put on hold in 2024 for reasons unknown.
Andrew’s anxiety was kicked into high gear last week after it was revealed that he had messaged Epstein to say that they would “play some more soon” in an email sent two months after the prince claimed their friendship had ended.
Proof of correspondence between the pair shows that Andrew wrote to the financier on the same day a photo of the prince with then-17-year-old Giuffre emerged, a court has heard.
Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking and federal conspiracy charges.
