Wigan Dad Horrified When School Sex Education Advises Daughter, 14, To ‘Suck Boyfriend’s Toes’
A UK father has been left baffled after his daughter brought home a bizarre leaflet from her school’s sex education class, which he says “promotes fetishes”.
Year Nine student Emma initially brought the sex education booklet home to her mum, Stacey Larkin, last month, but the mother was so shocked by the content she decided to let her husband, Carl Lawrence, broach the subject instead.
At first glance, the 101 Ways To Show Someone You Love Them Without Having Sex handout appeared quite innocent, with suggestions including including: “Pick them a flower”, “send them a romantic text” and “give them a loving cuddle”.
But there were also some wackier ideas, including: “Propose marriage,” “organize an ‘I love you’ message out the back of a plane,” and “each suck on the end of a long piece of spaghetti”.
The one that really shook Manchester dad Carl Lawrence was number 26: “Suck their toes”.

Carl Lawrence said he was “bewildered” by the leaflet given to his 14-year-old daughter.
“I understand children need to be made aware of the world, but should we really be promoting fetishes in Year Nine? I don’t think so.
“Surely they can just enjoy each other’s company. They can go for walks, watch a film, go to Burger King, go to the park.”
His teenage daughter Emma said she was surprised at the suggestion, especially when a teacher told the laughing class they “shouldn’t knock it until they try it”.
A spokesperson for Spectrum Community Health, which distributes the leaflets to schools, told the Manchester Evening News saying: “Spectrum’s Relationships and Sex Education Programme provides information and support to young people throughout their high school journey, helping them to make safer choices.
The most bizarre advice in the sex-education leaflet:
- Suck their toes
- Propose marriage
- Drive for two hours to see them for one
- Nibble their ears
- Buy them some nice underwear
- Walk a thousand miles for one of their smiles
- Each suck one end of a long piece of spaghetti
- Go on a loveboat
- Buy them a piece of the moon
- Tell them they are beautiful even if they look rough
