Beijing IKEA is Under Fire After Allegedly Planting a Half-Naked Woman in Their Store
Swedish furniture store IKEA is vehemently denying that they are responsible for photos showing a woman and her cheeky bum shopping at their Beijing location.
Photos of a woman posing without panties at an alleged IKEA in Beijing has gone viral after it was posted on the Weibo messaging app on Wednesday. The provocative photos that surfaced online feature a woman and her bare bottom pushing a shopping cart around inside of IKEA.
The photos were published on Weibo with the caption:
“I finally know why people in Beijing love shopping in IKEA.”
In the picture, the anonymous woman is casually pushing around a shopping cart wearing only a grey t-shirt. The other customers in the background seem to not notice that she is pantless. Tencent News reported that the Weibo user claimed to have gotten the photos from a friend. The source also disclosed that the IKEA was located near the Siyuan Bridge.
A second set of photos that were reportedly uploaded were taken down by Weibo. According to Shanghaiist, the nude photos showed a naked woman sitting on a bed inside an IKEA showroom. The caption said:
“NSFW, the photos were taken in Wuhan.”
This one is another example of China’s store do offer exceptional shopping experience: –
Following the incident, IKEA released a public statement on Weibo that stated:
“IKEA China management team attaches great importance to the ‘nude photos in IKEA store and showrooms’ emergence on the Internet. And IKEA has reported to the relevant authority at the first time […]
“We also hope that all consumers observe social morality and maintain social justice and social order. On the Internet, there is speculation about the behavior of IKEA as it opens up new stores. IKEA strongly denies this speculation.”
The Weibo user who uploaded the photos was consequently tracked and reprimanded by Beijing police. Officers warned that such disturbing and obscene photos should not be shared online and should be deleted immediately.
Netizens online expressed bewilderment and amusement at the incident. One person wrote on Weibo:
“I just don’t understand why such a young woman like her would do something so outrageous like this. Doesn’t she have any self-respect.?”
Another person wrote:
“I don’t believe IKEA’s statement. First, if IKEA didn’t deliberately set up the whole scene, why would such a huge shopping mall like IKEA have no one inside. Second, there was no view from the front of the woman. Who wouldn’t want to see her face after seeing her ass?”
Wanna see pussy in China? Apparently, they are everywhere …
This wouldn’t be the first time that the Chinese government has had to crack down on users uploading provocative content. In May, a leaked sex tape filmed at the Four Seasons Hotel in Shanghai caused a commotion on social media. Of course, who can forget the Uniqlo sex tape that made its way onto t-shirts.
Since Ikea is so sexy, now we wonder why Ikea can’t make it in the US?
