A top FBI agent at the Washington field office reportedly resigned from his post last week after facing intense scrutiny over allegations he helped shield Hunter Biden from criminal investigations into his laptop and business dealings.
Timothy Thibault, an FBI assistant special agent in charge, was allegedly forced out after he was accused of political bias in his handling of probes involving President Biden’s son, sources told the Washington Times on Monday.
The agent was escorted out of the field office by at least two “headquarters-looking types” last Friday, the sources said.
Thibault and the FBI didn’t immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment on Monday.

Grassley, ranking Member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, also asked for the names of all FBI and DOJ officials who warned Facebook that an impending document dump before the 2020 election would be Russian disinformation, leading the social media giant mistakenly to suppress The Post’s Hunter Biden laptop story.

Bash clinched the new role despite signing onto a letter along with 50 other former intelligence officials prior to the 2020 election that casted doubt on The Post’s expose of Hunter Biden’s laptop, insisting the computer’s contents “has the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation.”

Biden officially files to RUN for reelection
President Joe Biden filed for reelection Tuesday with the Federal Election Commission.
Documents signed August 30 show a filing for ‘Biden for President,’ which is designated as a principle campaign committee for the office of president.
Candidates listed on the filing include Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris. This is the strongest indication yet that Biden plans to run for a second term, despite some Democrats voicing concerns over his low poll numbers.
Last week, however, a Gallup survey put him at 44 percent approval – his highest all year.
