Recently, Coronation Street star Faye Brookes has banned boyfriend Gareth Gates from joining the show.
But don’t worry, he’s hoping to join Emmerdale instead.

The actress – who joined Corrie as Kate Connor in 2015 – doesn’t want Gareth following in the footsteps of Shayne Ward, who plays her onscreen brother Aidan.

Along with Shayne, the ITV soap has taken on several other former singers in the past, such as Kym Marsh (Michelle Connor) and former Boyzone member Keith Duffy (Ciaran McCarthy).

However, it looks like Gareth – who has been dating Faye for over five years – won’t be joining them and is now pinning his hopes on Emmerdale instead.
