NYPD’s Chief of Department, Jeffrey Maddrey, abruptly resigned late on Friday night amid serious allegations by his staff Lt. Quathisha Epps. Epps claimed Maddrey coerced her into a sexual relationship, demanding various sexual acts and granting her excessive overtime in return. Epps said when she tried to move away from him, she was outed due to her excess overtime earnings.

Jeffrey Maddrey, the highest-ranking officer of the New York Police Department, abruptly resigned late Friday night after explosive allegations of sexual harassment surfaced against him. New York Post reported that Lt Quathisha Epps claimed in an explosive interview that Maddreey preyed upon her, asking for sex in NYPD headquarters. “He wanted to have anal sex, vaginal sex, oral sex,” Epps said. “He was always asking me to kiss his penis.”

NYPS said Maddrey will be replaced by Chief of Patrol John Chell on an interim basis.

51-year-old Epps worked for Maddrey for a long time in an administrative role but Maddrey’s sexual demand began after June 2023 when Maddrey became the Chief of Department.

“He said he dreamed about f**king me in my a**,” Epps alleged. “I said, ‘But Chief, you’re the Chief of Department.’ He rubbed his chest. . . . His work pants were open,” Epps alleged. “He inserted himself, and he kept forcing it and forcing it,” she recalled. “And I kept asking him, ‘Can you please stop? Then I stopped asking him to stop, and I asked him to just slow down. ‘Can you please just slow down? You’re hurting me! You’re hurting me!'” Epps alleged. The two had sexual intercourse about 10 times after that.

Maddrey then became lenient allowing her to do a lot of overtime to get more money. “Part of the overtime was to take care of his girlfriend,” she said. “He would have me go apartment hunting with her.”

Epps’ lawyer Eric Sanders said when Epps started to get away from Maddrey recently, Epps was outed on a list of high overtime earners in retaliation which got Epps suspended for 30 days and investigated. Epps earned $400.000 including roughly $204,000 in overtime alone last year.

Maddrey denied Epps’ allegations and his lawyer said it was obviously a very convenient time for Epps to complain against Maddrey. “She’s obviously drowning and in the deep end of the pool without a lifesaver. She wants to take down as many people as she can. This is completely meritless, and we deny every aspect of it.”
