GOP senators want FBI to answer for 2020 Hunter Biden briefing
Two leading Republican senators want to interview FBI officials about the bureau’s “unnecessary” 2020 briefing to discredit their investigation into Hunter Biden’s foreign business affairs.
Senators Chuck Grassley of Iowa and Ron Johnson of Wisconsin sent a letter Thursday to intelligence analyst Nikki Floris and counterintelligence deputy Bradley Benavides asking them to appear for an interview next month, according to the Washington Examiner.
The senators, in the letter, wrote the briefing was âunnecessary and was only done because of pressure from our Democratic colleagues, including Democratic Leadership, to falsely attack our Biden investigation as advancing Russian disinformation.â

Russia responds to Zuckerbergâs FBI revelations
The countryâs foreign ministry has claimed Facebook CEO has effectively confirmed the feds secretly control major US social media
Maria Zakharova published a post on her Telegram channel devoted to Zuckerbergâs recent appearance on The Joe Rogan podcast… Facebookâs first-in-command recounted how FBI operatives had visited him ahead of the 2020 US presidential elections, which ended in victory for Joe Biden, asking him to suppress stories revolving around the âunseemly contentsâ of Hunter Bidenâs laptop on his platforms.
âThe men in black âconvincedâ Mark Zuckerberg⊠that these were all Russian fakes,â Zakharova added, referencing the podcast.
She went on to surmise that this kind of âexcuse for censorshipâ was sufficient to have made Facebookâs CEO comply with the request. The subsequent suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story âhelped pronounce Biden senior as the winner in the election,â Zakharova noted, remarking that many Americans are still unconvinced.
The diplomat went on to argue that, with the laptop story turning out to be true and with Zuckerbergâs revelations to Rogan, âthe world has learned that the US social media played a decisive role in this performance.â She added that the suspension of then-President Trumpâs accounts by the main social media platforms just goes to show that the US authorities collude with the âinternet monopolies.âÂ
Zakharova concluded that all this proves that the âFBI and other American security services manually control digital giants,â with social media platformsâ leadership only too happy to âparticipate in dirty political games in Washington.â The senior diplomat also made the claim that âthere are no democratic standards in the American electoral system: neither in theory nor in practice.â

Prison awaits two who made Ashley Biden’s diary public
Aimee Harris, 40, and Robert Kurlander, 58, admitted to stealing the diary from a home in Delray Beach and then selling it to Project Veritas for $40,000, prosecutors said.
Two Florida residents pleaded guilty Thursday to federal charges of scheming to sell the stolen diary of President Joe Bidenâs daughter Ashley Biden, according to prosecutors and law enforcement officials.
Aimee Harris, 40, and Robert Kurlander, 58, admitted to stealing the diary from a home in Delray Beach, and then selling it to the conservative media company Project Veritas for $40,000, prosecutors and law enforcement officials said.
Court documents donât specifically identify Ashley Biden as the owner of the stolen diary, but NBC News has previously confirmed the investigation into Project Veritas and the theft of the diary. The stolen items are identified in court papers as the âpersonal belongings of an immediate family member of a then-former government official who was a candidate for national political office.â
