Peter Mandelson caught urinating on street as Epstein files released

PETER Mandelson has been caught urinating in the middle of a street after a trove of emails detailing the extent of his friendship with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein was published.

The Labour grandee was sacked by Keir Starmer as the UK’s ambassador to the US in September after the extent of his friendship with the late financier was uncovered.

Emails disclosed then showed that Mandelson was sending supportive messages to Epstein up until 2010 – including after his conviction for soliciting a minor for prostitution.

However, further documents published on Tuesday evening revealed Mandelson had been in contact with Epstein as late as 2016.

The following night, Mandelson was pictured at former Tory chancellor George Osborne’s £10 million ($1.3 million) townhouse in Notting Hill in London, where he arrived with a £34.95 ($46) bottle of wine.

The Daily Mail reports Mandelson, 72, spent three hours at the property and was then spotted relieving himself on a garden wall shortly before 11pm, while waiting for an Uber.

Mandelson reportedly left Osborne’s house clutching his phone, walked a short distance to the street corner before undoing his zip and urinating against a brick wall.

One onlooker told the paper Mandelson looked “worse for wear” and claimed he had managed to urinate on his upmarket trainers.

The wall belonged to Osborne’s neighbour, James Reed – the tycoon behind Reed Recruitment, which has been critical of Labour’s economic policies.

Reed told the Daily Mail: “I’m surprised that whichever of my neighbours he happened to be visiting didn’t offer him a toilet. That doesn’t seem very diplomatic.”

In the newly-released emails published earlier this week, there are three exchanges which are noted to include Mandelson.

In a November 2016 email, Epstein can be seen to say to Lord Mandelson: “63 years old. You made it,” in an apparent reference to his birthday.

The messages also appear to suggest Mandelson warned Epstein to stay away from Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who was recently stripped of his titles by the King, his brother, after allegations – which he denies – that he sexually abused Virginia Giuffre after she was trafficked by the US billionaire.

Epstein appears to tell Mandelson: “You were right about staying away from Andrew”.

The peer responds: “Yes, without Andrew it would not have gone nuclear.”

In an email chain from 2011, Epstein forwards Mandelson a request for an interview from BBC Radio 4’s Today programme sent to his attorney, Jack Goldberger.

The broadcaster expresses an interest in speaking to him about “stories which are circulating, however inaccurately, about both him and Prince Andrew, the Duke of York”.

Mandelson replies: “No!!”

Mandelson told the Daily Mail: “I can only offer my profuse apologies. I was stood up by two Uber drivers and kept waiting in the street for half an hour, and was bursting. There is no disguising my embarrassment.”
