There is a sex position that has caused a lot of grief in the past, and it may be worth noting.

Injuries may be the last thing on your mind when you’re getting frisky in the bedroom, but a bit too much excitement or an awkward angle could result in an impromptu trip to the A&E.

Doesn’t sound fun, but what position could cause that much pain?

NHS surgeon Doctor Karan Raj revealed the single most dangerous sex position that you should watch out for.

He claims it’s responsible for 50 percent of penile fractures, and yes penises can break even though they’re boneless.

It turns out that ‘erratic thrusting’ can cause the penis to be crushed by the female pubic bone, which can result in tissue tear and, I think it goes without saying, some serious discomfort.

Apparently, the fractures of the male genitalia can even lead to deformities that assemble an aubergine – the literal fruit.

So without further ado, here’s the position you should look out for with your significant other, one night stand, or mid-week fling.

The most dangerous sex position, according to this medical expert, is reverse cowgirl.

Seeing as it is responsible for every other penile fracture, it might be worth proceeding with caution on this one, or just removing it completely from your repertoire.

The position involves the man laying on his back while the woman straddles his hips, but unlike in cowgirl, she faces his feet instead of his torso and face.

Dr. Raj states: “If there is any erratic thrusting or if the movements of the two parties are not in sync, the male [penis] could slip out and be crushed by the female pubic bone.”

The medical expert explains that a fractured penis actually means the tear in the tunica albuginea, a ‘rubbery sheath that allows the penis to enlarge during an erection.’

Sex and relationship expert Annabelle Knight further explains how the position can cause injury, and how you can avoid it.

“The reverse cowgirl can pose dangers, in some cases, the penis can be injured if you’re a little too enthusiastic with the thrusting,” she explained.

“If this is the case there’s a risk that the penis can fall out and then be sat on.

“But fear not, because as long as you and your partner keep an open dialogue, take your time, and embrace sensuality, then this position shouldn’t give you too much trouble.”

So it turns out that all you need to pull this one off is some good and clear communication – and by the looks of it, it’s very necessary.
