12 Most Anticipated Upcoming Nude Film Scenes

Each year in cinema and TV brings plenty to look forward to, be it an exciting new entry into a beloved franchise, an adaptation of a classic novel, or simply, the sheer joy of seeing beautiful people getting naked for our viewing pleasure. With festival screenings, early releases and press interviews revealing who’s stripping off long before the films actually end up hitting our screens, fans of movie nudity are able to rub their hands in delighted anticipation of who they’ll get to see in the buff this year and next.
A great, classic nude scene can help bolster an actor or actress’s popularity forever more, and some even believe that it can bolster their Oscar chances in prestigious roles (looking at you here, Kate Winslet). Whether these scenes feature iconic moments from beloved source material, actresses you’d never expect getting their kit off, are artistic foreign films which gleefully embrace graphic nudity, or simply depict gorgeous rising stars sure to become the next Margot Robbie, these 12 scenes are certain to open plenty of eyes over the next 12 months.
By their unreleased nature, don’t expect too many racy images from these scenes, so you’ll have to use your imagination instead!

12. Lena Headey – Game Of Thrones

Two weeks ago, the Game of Thrones crew were in Croatia filming a crucial upcoming scene for the show, one which shan’t be spoiled here, though rest assured, fans of the book will be expecting it and have likely been curious to know how HBO and Lena Headey will be pulling it off.
All that will be said about the scene is that it involves Cersei Lannister walking nude through he streets, and HBO reportedly spent $200,000 filming the scene, hiring over 200 security guards to protect the set, paying local shopkeepers to shut down business for the 4-day shoot, banning mobile phones from the set and making extras sign NDA waivers to avoid letting anything slip (and presumably to secure Headey’s dignity).
Though Headey has routinely stripped off throughout her career, this is a nude scene on a whole other level because of the its visceral, raw nature, and if HBO pull it off, it’ll make for a classic moment of the upcoming fifth season.

11. Kristen Wiig – Welcome To Me
Kristen Wiig has been on the wishlist for a lot of people to get her kit off for a while, all the more so considering that even her sexier screen moments have been relatively modest to date. Well, not anymore: Wiig’s new comic drama Welcome to Me, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last month, shows the brilliant comic actress in all of her gorgeous, naked glory.
The scene in question has Wiig walking around a hotel room in a loose bathrobe before she goes down to a casino and removes her robe, giving a few seconds of complete, full frontal nudity. In addition, the movie has also been getting rave reviews so far, so all the more reason to see it when it finally hits cinemas!
10. Roxanne Pallett – Wrong Turn 6: Last Resort

Roxanne Pallett is best known to Brits for her three-year run as Jo Sugden in TV soap Emmerdale, though is evidently keen to fashion a new career direction for herself as a sexy scream Queen going by her decision to disrobe for upcoming horror flick Wrong Turn 6 (yes, there’s 6 of them).
Though the film isn’t out on DVD until next week, early VOD copies of the film have resulted in screen caps being posted online already, in which the lovely young actress can be seen completely shedding her more modest prior image in a steamy sex scene, in which she bares pretty much everything.
In fairness, Pallett has taken her clothes off once before, in 2010’s Lake Placid 3, though the outdoors sex scene she partook in was poorly shot and as a result not very flattering, whereas this looks decidedly better from a cinematic point of view, and Pallett has never looked better.
9. Katherine Waterston – Inherent Vice

There are plenty of reasons to be excited about Paul Thomas Anderson’s upcoming stoner crime drama Inherent Vice, and here’s another. While British actress Katherine Waterston, who plays Joaquin Phoenix’s ex-girlfriend Shasta Fay Hepworth, is widely tipped to be a front-runner for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar, she also strips off heavily in the film which premiered at the New York Film Festival a few weeks ago.
The scene in question reportedly shows the actress going to town on herself for a time, showing off her assets while attempting to seduce Phoenix’s Doc Sportello into some sexual activity. It works: Doc spanks her before they get down to some doggy style action, which Anderson apparently lingers on for several minutes.
Though Waterston has gotten topless before in 2007’s The Babysitters, the Inherent Vice scene is a) fully nude and b) will actually be seen by people, surely helping to make a star out of the actress just as happened with Margot Robbie last year in The Wolf of Wall Street.
8. Shane Lynch – Men, Women & Children
Beautiful young actress Shane Lynch isn’t particularly well known right now, though that’s set to change with the release of Jason Reitman’s Men, Women and Children (out in the US this weekend). Reports from limited screenings and the film’s TIFF premiere indicate that Lynch plays a prostitute who married man Don (Adam Sandler) hires from the Internet.
The scene in question has Lynch stripping down to her bra and panties as she prepares to have sex with Don. After the act is finished, Reitman gives audiences a brief post-coital look at Lynch’s chest, which is apparently (and rather surprisingly), the only non-pornographic nudity in the entire movie.
Even with the film’s mixed critical reception to date, Lynch has earned a number of notices for her part, and if nothing else, her eye-opening presence here should help win her plenty of other high-profile parts.
7. Yana Novikova – The Tribe
If you haven’t heard of the upcoming Ukranian drama The Tribe, don’t feel bad. The film was a major hit at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, distinguished for the fact that the film unfolds entirely in sign language (which isn’t subtitled), and, well, features a metric crapton of nudity.
Promotional material for The Tribe hasn’t been shy in making this fact clear, showing deaf-mute characters Sergey (Grigory Fesenko) and Anna (Yana Novikova) in a number of graphically raw sexual positions. Though the sight of Novikova getting down to business is enough, the real appeal of this nude scene is that it’s like absolutely nothing audiences have seen before: with no spoken dialogue or subtitles, viewers need to cling to every hand motion and facial expression to glean meaning from the act itself and everything that occurs either side of it.
Novikova may be the least-known face on this list, but her impressive commitment to such a challenging role should make her a compelling talent to watch for the future.
6. Reese Witherspoon – Wild

Reese Witherspoon has been earning rave reviews and massive Oscar buzz for her performance in upcoming drama Wild, as Cheryl, a woman who hikes over 1000 miles in order to heal herself emotionally. The film has frequent flashbacks to Sheryl’s destructive drug-addled, sex-fueled past, in turn giving viewers a number of sexual and non-sexual glimpses at Reese’s body.
Witherspoon has been topless before, in the 1998 movie Twilight which few people actually saw, though almost two decades later, as an A-lister and working on a far worthier project, she’s going to have a much larger audience for her disrobing this time. Given that she’s aged spectacularly over the years, who wouldn’t want to see this?
5. Shailene Woodley – White Bird In A Blizzard

Gregg Araki’s latest teen drama is already available on VOD ahead of its US theatrical release next week, and so you can feast your eyes on this glorious screen cap of the extremely talented Shailene Woodley topless during a tryst with her boyfriend. Though she was previously topless for a heartbeat in The Spectacular Now, Woodley shows decidedly more skin far more frequently here, in both sex scenes and in glimpsing at herself in a mirror.
Long shots during the sex scene show Woodley in the complete nude (though full-frontal nudity is artfully avoided), showing her to be a fearless young actress keen to take on parts no matter how demanding or challenging. Anyone who honestly thought that she “wasn’t hot enough” to play Mary-Jane in The Amazing Spider-Man 2 needs to watch White Bird in a Blizzard and have their mind blown forever more.
In fact, she shows more of herself than co-star and screen mother Eva Green, which going by her famous willingness to strip off, is pretty damn impressive.
4. Juliette Binoche – Clouds Of Sils Maria


In fairness, French actress Juliette Binoche is no stranger to nudity: the 50-year-old has taken her clothes off over a dozen times throughout her career, numerous instances of which have been in the last five years alone. Binoche is clearly confident with how she looks in middle age, and that’s why viewers should be intrigued about her latest nude scene in upcoming drama Clouds of Sils Maria.
The scene, in which she and Kristen Stewart’s characters go skinny dipping, has Binoche stripping off nude, while Stewart refused to go nude for the part and keeps her underwear on. Still, given how Binoche exudes sexual confidence and Stewart really doesn’t, it just might be for the best, no matter how much younger Stewart is.
Audiences may have already seen every inch of Binoche’s body on screen, but as she continues to age so gracefully, who can really mind?
3. Melanie Lynskey – Togetherness

Melanie Lynskey is one of those actresses who just seems to be getting more gorgeous the older she gets: though she was previously topless in Peter Jackson’s Heavenly Creatures, given that Lynskey looks much sexier now than she did 20 years ago, there’s a sure desire to see her in the buff once again.
Lynskey has briefly stripped down in two other movies in recent years, and will again be doing so in the Duplass brothers’ new HBO show Togetherness, which revolves around two couples who end up living together. Lynskey plays Mark Duplass’ wife, and confirmed in a recent interview that she strips off for some full-frontal nudity in one episode. If the show wasn’t already sold to you, it should be by now…
2. Jennifer Connelly – Shelter

Jennifer Connelly is another actress who has been frequently nude throughout her cinematic career, with sexy scenes in the likes of Mulholland Falls, Requiem for a Dream and House of Sand and Fog sticking in mind in particular. She also gets partially nude in her latest drama, Shelter, which was written and directed by her husband Paul Bettany.
This time, the results admittedly aren’t going to be quite as glamourous given that Connelly plays a homeless drug addict, and her main nude scene involves her injecting heroin into her crotch, while giving viewers an eyefull of her nether-regions. In addition, a later scene reportedly has a man she whores herself out to “finishing” all over her face in graphic visual detail, which has been deemed a “humiliating” shot for Connelly.
So, it’s not going to be pleasant or particularly titillating, but Connelly’s commitment to the grim reality of the role should make it feel all the more real and visceral.
1. Dakota Johnson & Jamie Dornan – Fifty Shades Of Grey

And finally, it’s the movie that’s going to certainly have tongues wagging next Valentine’s Day, as Sam Taylor-Johnson adapts E.L. James infamous hit erotic novel Fifty Shades of Grey. With the promise that it’s going to be a hard-R affair with plenty of full-frontal nudity, audiences should get to see almost all of Dakota Johnson and, of course, co-star Jamie Dornan.
Getting to see this pair going at it in their first nude scenes will be enough to propel the film to major box office success, but the focal question about the nudity is how far Taylor-Johnson will be able to take it while avoiding an NC-17 rating. Expect plenty of boobs, butt and bush, but sorry ladies, it’s unlikely the director will go the whole hog with full-frontal male nudity (unless this is smartly filmed for an unrated Blu-ray).
Even if everything else sucks about this movie (which it probably will), at least viewers will get to see two beautiful people mostly going at it for 2 hours. It could be worse.
