Time to stock up on “flesh” colored crayons?
It looks like the Marvel Super Heroes Secret Wars Activity Book was only the beginning. Marvel is set to release three new “adult” coloring books to fans. What’s so adult about them? It isn’t clear if we’ll be seeing nekkid characters or if our webmaster will ever get to color his favorite Luke Cage/Jessica Jones scene (from the book titles, not this time Jude!), but odds are it’s probably just because the images may provide more dexterity to color. Maybe.
This reporter had no idea “adult” coloring books were so popular:
“Around the world there are several other coloring books for adults hitting the bestseller lists and with Marvel being the premier graphic storytelling medium, now is the perfect time for us to join this latest book market trend,” says David Gabriel, SVP Sales and Marketing, Marvel. “With Marvel’s Adult Coloring books, fans can add their own personal style to classic Marvel stories. This truly is a way for fans of all ages to be a part of the creative process and bring their personal artistic style to these epic Marvel events.”
The first book will be the Age of Ultron Coloring Book, featuring images from that comic event, with art by Bryan Hitch, Carlos Pacheco, Brandon Peterson, and more. The book will be 72 pages, with a suggested price of $7.99, and will be out in October.
Color Me Queer
The next book will be the Little Marvel By Skottie Young Coloring Book with art by Skottie Young (surprise!), and is due out February 2016. Finally April 2016 will see the Civil War Coloring Book, which is not directly tied to, but can be seen as related to the Captain America: Civil War movie out the next month.
