Left-wing activist Natali Cohen Vaxberg arrested by Tel Aviv police on Sunday after her video “Shit Instead of Blood” went viral

You may remember an incident in April, when actress/left-wing political activist Natali Cohen Vaxberg appeared at Yad Vashem to perform in front of the Holocaust memorial, taking on the persona of her most offensive character (yet): the Holocaust.
โI am the Holocaust, the best thing that ever happened to you!โ she told angry passers-by. โAfter all of these years, I deserve a round of applause.โ
โHow could you justify 1948 and 1967 without me?โ she continued. โWho deserves credit for enabling you to place 3 million people in a ghetto without the superpowers bombing you? Do you think you could get on without me?”

Despite the harsh condemnation this ‘protest’ merited – a video of which can be found online – Vaxberg was at it again recently, defecating on an Israeli flag, and at least a dozen others, in a video called “Shit Instead of Blood,” which, of course, went viral, and offended people from around the world.
The video was released in an extended version, which finds Vaxberg defecating on flags that include North Korea, South Korea, Canada, Iran, France, Afghanistan and the Palestinian Authority, and then a short 20-second version which finds her only shitting on the Israeli flag.
In the background, “Hatikvah,” the Israeli national anthem, can be heard.
Vaxberg, a performance artist and actress, was arrested once Israeli police got wind of her actions, and received two days house arrest by a Tel Aviv court.
She was also banned from using the internet for 30 days.
Tel Aviv police claimed that they respect her freedom of speech, but that Vaxberg’s videos were damaging symbols of the Jewish State. Despite her vulgar actions, and the fact that I would’n’t mind never having to see, or hear, from Vaxberg again, did she technically break any laws though?
After all, Israel is a free and democratic country….Though desecrating your country’s homeflag definitely deserves some form of response. What do you think?
