If men can strut around town topless, why can’t women? This has long been an established argument in gender equality.
Evidently, New York City agrees with the sentiment, as women are welcome to walk around the city absolutely topless with no legal repercussions whatsoever. According to Inked magazine, the publication for which this photo shoot (video below) was intended, porn star Bonnie Rotten (who is best known for her elaborate ink and anal sex scenes) took this topless law and ran with it — literally.

The porn star enthusiastically marched around the busy city among policemen, tourists, and subway commuters with her bare breasts exposed as crowds either looked on, or took mobile images of the confident porn actress pursuing her legal right as a woman. (Or, more likely, took images of a celebrity who’s being paid handsomely for a publicity stunt on behalf of the publication’s Sex issue.)
As you’ll see, male or female, nobody really seemed to care. Whether it was on the subway, in Central Park, or Times Square, Rotten only received reaction when she either interacted with the public, or encouraged others to join her on her nude exploits. While photos were indeed taken, this could be attributed to the fact that she is a notable porn star (a celebrity in the adult film industry), that she had a TMZ camera crew and Inked photographers following her, or that she was one of the first women to publicly take advantage of the gender neutral law.
Could Rotten, who may now be considered a martyr of this movement, lead other women to follow? And, if that’s the case, will topless women become as accepted as men? This is Rotten’s intent, she insists, coining the campaign “Tits 4 America.”
