Courtney Love warning about Harvey Weinstein in 2005
Hereâs Courtney Love, trying to warn people about Harvey Weinstein back in 2005
Part of the gut-churning strangeness surrounding Hollywoodâs ongoing Harvey Weinstein scandal is how quickly itâs become clear that Weinsteinâs alleged abuses really were an âopenâ secret; itâs now apparent that a lot of people knew what âHarveyâ was like around women, and almost none of them said anything (outside of a handful of inside-baseball jokes) across years of painful encounters, awkward meetings, and outright (alleged) assault. Which is what makes the following clip of Courtney Love at the 2005 Comedy Central Roast Of Pamela Anderson so striking: Not only does she try, in plain English, to warn women away from Weinsteinâs grasp, but sheâs also very clearly nervousâan emotion we donât typically associate with Loveâs public personaâto be doing so.

The moment came during a red carpet bit, as comedian Natasha Leggero asks Love if she has any advice for young women moving to Hollywood. Love clearly hesitates for a moment, noting, âIâll get libeled if I say itâŠâ but then rapidly plunges into a piece of what would later prove to be very good advice: âIf Harvey Weinstein invites you to a private party at the Four Seasons, donât go.â
Loveâwho was blasted during the 2005 event with jokes about her sobriety and stabilityâsays she ended up paying dearly for that five seconds of blunt honesty. She tweeted earlier today that powerful Hollywood talent agency CAA âeternally bannedâ her for speaking out against Weinstein, an outcome that sheds a little more light on why so many famous men and women may have let his open secret stay secret for so long.
Although I wasn’t one of his victims, I was eternally banned by CAA for speaking out against #HarveyWeinstein #rape https://t.co/8giwNkrC5t

Harvey Weinstein pulls out a walker for court appearances but walks fine going to Target.
On some award show an actress said something along the lines of: âI donât know who Harvey Weinstein had killed to get this to happen, but thanks!â

Recently, Salma Hayek came out and said he threatened her life during one of his episodes. Iâm about 50/50 at this point.
Kurt Cobain also fought to keep the album cover for âNevermindâ uncensored. Reportedly David Geffen wanted to put a sticker over the baby penis & Cobains reply was something along the lines of âif anyone is offended by this, you must be a closet pedophileâ and the record label backed right down.
She also called out Ted Nugent and said she blew him when she was 12.
If you read the CDAN blind on Chris Cornell, you’ll find that the way his murder is laid out eerily resembles how Tom Grant, the PI Courtney hired to track Kurt, hypothesizes the circumstances unfolded around Kurt’s own death.
The Cobains’ lawyer was helpful enough until she learned there to be a sheet mimicking Kurt’s handwriting found. At this point, and only then, does it occur to her to inquire as to whether the conversations she and Grant are having are being recorded.
Why, ask yourself, at this particular juncture is she suddenly curious about *that*?
Because she’s beginning to suspect the obvious: foul play.
Who could forget Pammies sex tape…
… Love to be in Pam Anderson’s roast.
