As anyone watching Beyoncé’s Coachella performances will attest: we aren’t deserving of this Queen. Case in point: the three wardrobe malfunctions she warded off while continuing to give the performance of a century.
During her two sets over Coachella weekends one and two, Bey ensured she maintained looking good—but even the leader of the free pop world proved she isn’t immune to the workings of gravity. Battling through a slew of wardrobe and on-stage malfunctions, Queen Bey made sure Beychella fans weren’t disappointed.
Malfunction one: the wind machine
Never one to shy away from a good wind machine, Beyoncé took matters into her own hands on the second weekend of Coachella, adjusting a wind machine because well, it just wasn’t blowing her hair in the right direction. In a video posted to Twitter, Bey can be seen changing the direction of the wind to suit her height. Of course, now we’re all wondering whether or not the person in charge of wind machines is fired, but we’re not dwelling on it.

Malfunction two: the boots
Anyone watching Beyoncé’s first performance (remember, the one where Destiny’s Child reunited and we all wept joyful, early 2000s-scented tears?) will remember this one. With all eyes on Beyoncé it was hard not to spot her custom Balmain over-the-knee boots sliding ever-so-slightly down, bit by bit. For a good half an hour of the performance, the boots continued to slide, eventually flopping so they were more of a slouchy boot than over-the-knee. But in usual Bey form, she handled it like a pro. At one point, she had to stop and fix the boot, but it wasn’t having it. As one Twitter user put it: “Beyoncé’s boot got tired before she did.” Amen.

Malfunction three: the fall
Although this isn’t technically a wardrobe malfunction, we’re calling it one anyway. During the second performance on weekend two, Bey bought out her sister Solange for an epic sister-sister duet of Get Me Bodied, but alas, the pair are humans too and fell. Yes, they fell on stage.
During the cute double duo, Bey goes to pick up her younger sister, but things don’t go to plan with Beyoncé and Solange falling backwards onto the stage. After a breathless moment from the crowd, the sisters have a good laugh and can be seen continuing their dance routine from the ground. Yes, these two don’t miss a beat.

In moral of this story? Beyoncé is human, that much is confirmed. But she’s still an angel in our eyes.
