Fake News Alert
Apparently Amy Schumer is related to Senator Chuck Schumer who is part and parcel of the #MeToo movement. Allegedly, she admits to forcefully grabbing a cab drivers hand, putting it on her vagina, and making him finger her…
TL;DR: So Amy Schumer admitted to rape on two separate accounts, one in a speech she gave, and another on a podcast (evidence provided in the first and second paragraph), and now, finding any information on it is near impossible (the conspiracy part which I elaborate on in the final paragraph). However, you do find plenty on how she came out shortly after as a victim of rape, and her various comments on the #MeToo movement and the men who were accused, leading me to think the evidence was suppressed so she can continue to lead the #MeToo movement.
So to begin, a while ago, Amy Schumer gave a speech at the Gloria Awards and Gala, in which she admitted to having sex with a man who called her over, even though he was clearly extremely drunk/ mentally incapacitated
(The text of which may be found here: https://www.vulture.com/2014/05/read-amy-schumers-ms-gala-speech.html?mid=twitter_vulture).
This clearly constitutes rape, a point which I will make here using quotes from her story. Throughout her story, she described how drunk he was, starting with “He’s there, but not really. His face is kind of distorted, and his eyes seem like he can’t focus on me. He’s actually trying to see me from the side, like a shark… He was fucking wasted”.
She goes on to state kissing him was like “Being tongued by someone who had just been given Novocain”. When he attempted to have sex with her “His penis was so soft, it felt like one of those de-stress things that slips from your hand?… [He] falls asleep every three seconds and moves his tongue like an elderly person eating their last oatmeal?”.
She quotes him speaking nonsense “Darling, you send me, I know you send me, honest, you do …”, and generally makes very clear the the man was in no shape or mind to consent.
For those who still disagree, consider if a man was in her place. Being called to a woman’s home, he arrives, and she is completely inebriated, to the point that “She’s there, but not really. Her face is kind of distorted, and her eyes seem like she can’t focus on me. She’s actually trying to see me from the side, like a shark… She’s fucking wasted”. He decides to lightly coerce her into sex anyway, even while the woman is unable to move properly, or speak coherently, claiming its not rape on the fact that he was invited and she reciprocated. She was not mentally fit/ sound to give consent, same as a rape victim who was drugged.
She also made a second admittance on a podcast, wherein she admits to forcefully grabbing a cab drivers hand, putting it on her vagina, and making him finger her.
The podcast can be found here: (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UrhXqRq2_4&feature=youtu.be&t=480), stamped where she begins the story. At 9:38, she makes the admittance she forced herself upon him, and the host says “so you raped a guy”, to which she responds “yeah I know. When I tell this story I say I let a cab driver finger me but really I took his hand…[sic]”.
Now, finding any articles, evidence, or discussion about it is near impossible. I goggled the terms “amy schumer confessed to rape”, “amy schumer committed rape”, “amy schumer rape speech”, and “amy schumer self confessed rapist”. Only the last returned results (because it was the exact title of a reddit post). After digging deeper, all I could find was a single article on it, and various other articles or posts addressing the issue, mainly by addressing (and usually dismissing) the initial article, whose title is “Wait A Second, Did Amy Schumer Rape a Guy?”.
Essentially, if you don’t know the exact name of an article, you won’t find any information on the issue/ incidents. This is where I believe the conspiracy begins. Information on her illicit acts has been suppressed, and she has continued to lead the #MeToo movements despite this. While her admittance came out around mid 2014- early 2015 (with the podcast being as early as 2012), the information was easily and readily available until late 2017/ early 2018, when she began becoming a major face of the #MeToo movement. The accusations have instead been replaced with her own accusing of others, claiming her first sexual experience to have been rape, and speaking on Aziz Ansari.
Now, I will admit, the stories never gained much traction media wise (as women raping men often does not constitute the rigorous media standard of “will this make us more money than another fucking buzzfeed list”), however, the media/ information covering it was never really hidden until Schumer decided to become a big face of the #MeToo movement. Similarly, other faces of the #MeToo movement who have been accused (Like Lena Dunham and Mindy Kaling) have had info on their misconduct buried, but not in the same manner as Schumer.
While you can still find accusations against Dunham and Kaling on Google, they simply seem to be preceded by newer press. But even extremely specific search terms for Schumer won’t return much, leading me to believe she, and other high profile members in the movement, may be getting aid in repressing their own immoral acts. As a side note, I’d also like to note Schumer is first cousins once removed with Senator Chuck Schumer, who she recently began defending alongside the #MeToo movement.
As a closing statement, I do sincerely believe in recent times, the information proving Schumer has committed rape and assault on at least two occasions has been suppressed recently, however, if in writing this all I do is bring light to her wrongdoings, I still see the value in that. If maybe you disagree with the conspiracy side of this, still consider the ramifications for our society, when a woman can admit to rape, and media decides it’s not worth coverage.
We live in a world where it took almost a decade to begin exacting justice for the wrongdoing of celebrities like R. Kelly, and a lifetime to convict Bill Cosby, a time wherein many gain impunity from their crimes through wealth, reputation, gender, and color. We need to look, not only at those being accused, but at their accusers as well, and judge all with blind eyes, a measured hand, and a strong fist. We need to bring light to these wrongdoings, and I sincerely thank you for having taken the time to read this.
